The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI), the non-profit research organization dedicated to the trucking industry, has officially launched its 2023 Top Trucking Industry Issues Survey. This annual survey seeks input from various stakeholders within the trucking industry to rank the most pressing concerns and explore potential strategies for addressing each problem.
Solving the Big Issues
Now in its 19th year, ATRI’s yearly analysis goes beyond just ranking the top trucking industry issues; it offers valuable insights into how different industry players, such as motor carriers and professional drivers, perceive and prioritize these critical topics. The report also allows stakeholders to track trucking industry issues over time, enabling a better understanding of which concerns are gaining or losing significance.
Dan Van Alstine, President and COO of Ruan Transportation Management Systems and Chair of the American Trucking Associations (ATA), emphasized the survey’s importance: “The annual Top Trucking Industry Issues Survey has long been a crucial part of understanding the challenges facing our country’s supply chain. ATRI’s research provides an opportunity for thousands of trucking industry professionals, from drivers to executives, to weigh in on the most important topics that affect trucking and collectively decide on the best strategies for addressing each.”
Drivers Encouraged to Participate
Ken Duncan, an America’s Road Team Captain and a professional truck driver for Walmart Transportation, encouraged fellow drivers to participate: “I encourage my fellow drivers to take a few minutes and complete ATRI’s Top Trucking Industry Issues Survey. Whether your top issue is truck parking, driver compensation, detention, traffic congestion, or something else, it only takes a few minutes to make your voice heard and for us collectively to let the industry know what drivers are most concerned about.”
Announcing the Results
The results of the 2023 survey are set to be unveiled on October 14, 2023, as part of the American Trucking Associations Management Conference & Exhibition, scheduled to take place in Austin, Texas.
Industry stakeholders are strongly encouraged to participate in the 2023 survey, which is accessible by clicking here. The survey will remain open for responses until September 29, 2023, providing an opportunity for a wide range of voices to contribute to shaping the industry’s future.
