Digital ThermALERT

Revolutionize Your Fleet Safety with P.S.I.’s Digital ThermALERT® for Real-Time Wheel-End Temperature Monitoring

Pressure Systems International (P.S.I.) recently unveiled their newest product, Digital ThermALERT®, during a press conference at the 2023 Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition. The event provided an excellent platform for P.S.I. to showcase their latest innovation, which is designed to provide real-time monitoring of wheel-end temperatures and prevent damage or downtime caused by excessive heat. The unveiling of Digital ThermALERT® at this prestigious event is a testament to P.S.I.’s commitment to developing cutting-edge solutions that help improve the safety and efficiency of the transportation industry.

Digital ThermALERT® is a cutting-edge sensor that allows users to monitor wheel-end temperatures in real-time through a telematics communication portal. The innovative ThermALERT technology, which has been a standard feature on the P.S.I. ATIS product since 2017, notifies users of elevated wheel-end temperatures that could potentially lead to damage, wheel loss, or fire. This feature helps fleets save money by avoiding unnecessary expenses associated with wheel-end temperature issues. Additionally, the new Digital ThermALERT allows users to customize the alert activation level based on their equipment and personal preferences, providing a more personalized user experience.

Level Up With Digital ThermALERT

The latest Digital ThermALERT takes wheel-end temperature monitoring to the next level by offering complete visibility of temperatures through P.S.I.’s TireView® LIVE™ portal or other telematics integration partners like Road Ready from Clarience Technologies. This advanced reporting feature helps users to determine the standard wheel-end operating temperature of their equipment and analyze the wheel-end history for any anomalies. This data can be used to identify potential equipment or maintenance issues, such as a dragging brake or bearing problem that can be scheduled for service before causing any damage. Thus, Digital ThermALERT helps to prevent costly repairs and downtime for fleets.

Alert Customization

In addition to offering real-time temperature monitoring and customizable alert settings, the new Digital ThermALERT is also designed for optimal performance. The sensor is strategically positioned to measure the temperature inside the spindle end at the wheel bearings, providing accurate and reliable data. The sensor’s location also reduces the impact of external thermal factors, ensuring that readings are not affected by ambient temperature changes.

Convenience With Digital ThermALERT

The sensor’s replaceable battery is a convenient feature that minimizes downtime during maintenance. A conductor wire is fed through the axle end and attached to a modified PSI spindle plug, making it easy to replace the battery when needed. With these innovative features, the Digital ThermALERT is a top-of-the-line solution for monitoring wheel-end temperatures, helping fleet managers ensure their equipment runs smoothly and safely.

More Innovations to Come in April 2023

During the P.S.I. press conference, two additional innovations were also introduced: the ATIS/MTIS Driver Video, which explains system operation and what to do when the system indicator light illuminates, and the TireView LIVE Mobile App, which will be available for Apple/Android devices starting April 1, 2023. The mobile app offers all the features and benefits of the TireView LIVE portal in the palm of your hand.
